We have ITA97 roaring out front of every other team member, with ToniCipriani a distant second. RustyVandura formed the team and joined two hours ahead of ITA, but ITA is dusting the competition. Do we smell a Ryzen processor? Some killer GPU action?

looks like HHFP2 is kicking HHFP’s butt. HHFP2 is an older machine but it has a GPU that FFH recognizes, even if its old. The more powerful machine has AMD GPU’s that aren’t recognized for whatever reason. HHFP is a 12 core Mac pro with 2 3 GB video cards and 64 gb of ramm, HHFP2 is a dual quad Xeon with a GTX570 and 24 gb of ramm.
EDIT: Looks like GPU’s aren’t supported in MAC OS. Bummer.

I just pointed my machines to this server. Should see me soon in the stats!

Just started contributing. As an aside, a password is apparently not needed. All you need is the team number. :)
Also, I’m on a Ryzen 2700X, with a Vega Frontier Edition 16GB.

Ryzen 7 1700 overclocked ~20% cooled by an EVGA 280mm radiator and a AMD RX590 gpu overclocked ~5%. This is normally high frame rate, 1080p gaming, sim racing and Oppoing at home rig. It’s done a nice job of warming up the spare room today.

Ooh, we know who's going to lead.

You darned Maccentrics. The fact that some AMD chip isn’t recognized doesn’t surprise me, not that I’d expect it not to work. Architecture...
And cookies: I want to mail you some for your family. I’ve already placed the order with my daughter. Would that be alright?

FUN! You’ll show up after your first work unit is complete.

Spanked, I’ll be. This is a great way to channel our CPU/GPU envy.

I’ve already accrued 2.6 million points over on the folding@evga group over the past month.

How much watt age are you pulling?
![]() 04/11/2020 at 21:26 |

I don’t have a watt meter to tell me at the wall , but hw monitor shows about 300 watts between my CPU and GPU. I’d figure at least 400w at the wall.
![]() 04/11/2020 at 21:34 |

I used an actual ammeter, and mine's pulling like 250 from the wall.

Just showed up on the list - jkminer t here. I use either username depending on the availability on the system.

Very cool. This is s fun thing. I'll keep recruiting.

If I was unscrupulous and could go into the office, I got a machine that could make it interesting. Dual 10 core Xeon with dual Quaddros. I don’t remember exactly which Quaddros but I’m sure they are no slouch. In my younger days all the computers in the office would be running it, but it’s not my electricity to spend. I need to build a new rig, so I have been using a laptop for the past couple of months.

You are more scrupulous than I am. When -- if -- school ever opens up again, I'm going to leave a unit running there. I'm a teacher...

After just a few hours...two work units completed, and I am now in third.
By morning...I’ll be in the lead.

And here I am after just two work units:

Wanna share specs for your impressive machines? Curious minds want to know.

Y’all should be terrified of my machine now. Look at the “credit” valuation of the highlighted items here:
This is a situation where “blowing the doors off the competition” is not even an apt description.
Update: The credit value of the Work Unit went up to 171,499 in the app. This, however, does not reflect what the final calculated value will be when it gets submitted.

The number I watch is Points Per Day, which I take to be an overall rate. My i5 Xeon gets 45-50,000 Points Per Day. Because reasons, I may upgrade my GPU and see what it does.

Yup, do it.

My brother is making two modest gaming boxes for his sons and we ordered two 1060/6gb cards from eBay that won’t fit. One seller is cool and the other is a d**k. So the seller who is a d**k is going to get a negative feedback and Folding@home is going to get another GPU on their team.

Sure- I’ve got 2 pointed at it, my Ryzen 5 2600 with a gtx 1050 (my Plex server) and a ryzen 5 3600 with a RX 5700 (my workstation).

Is 5000K a good color temperature for general purpose webcamming? Yes, the 3000K bulbs were freaking out my webcam, especially with the green screen wall behind me.
